The Press Club, University of Lagos welcomes you to our various campuses – Akoka, Idi-Araba and Radiography. To the returning students, we welcome you back on campus, to the new students; we congratulate you on your admission, welcome you to campus and wish you a fulfilling stay ahead.
It is no longer news that the University now has a new Vice Chancellor, in the person of Professor Toyin ogundipe. The Press Club, UNILAG congratulates Professor Ogundipe on this new feet achieved and wishes him a fruitful tenure in office.
Although, despite the on-going strike by the Joint Action Committee consisting of NASU, SSANU AND NAAT, the University is opened, not optimally functioning but registration processes are on-going and lectures have commenced.
We seize this medium to implore student to be law-abiding, stay away from drugs abuse, violence, examination malpractices, and misconducts. We encourage you to enjoy the opportunities the University has to offer. Furthermore, develop yourself and equip yourself to become a better individual.
In the light of this, below are some tips to have a wonderful, informative and productive year in school;
Make 2018 your “year of action”, enough of rehearsing and planning… Start acting now!
In whatever you decide to do, never allow frustration, discouragement and hopelessness.
Make time consciously for yourself with your Creator.
Don’t always think of the bad, filter the good from bad and be grateful for small beginnings; progress is all that matters.
Purse your dream; the size of your dream is the size of your achievements in life
Possess and display the right attitudes; for example, uprightness, diligence, hard work, humility and courage.
Remember, what is wrong is wrong… No matter how many people are doing it, No amount of explanation or excuses would change the fact that, it is wrong. So when you do something wrong, either by choice or by mistake – accept your deed as wrong, deal with the consequence of your actions and move on!
We once more congratulate and commend the new school management, as we anticipate their touch on the school managerial issues and student’s welfare.
On a final note, The Press Club, UNILAG pledges to get you better informed and continue to serve as the fourth estate of the realm.
