The United Nations Academic Impact in partnership with the Millennium Campus Network on Monday listed forty-three undergraduate students of the University of Lagos (UNILAG) among the 1, 092 selected for the Class of 2019 Millennium Fellowship.
All-together, the selected undergraduate leaders from 16 countries of the world, would kick-start a total of 816 projects in their various campuses starting August 20th.
This year’s fellows, which covers 69 campuses from Africa, the Americas, Asia, Europe, and Oceania, were chosen from over 7, 000 applications from 1, 200 campuses.
The UNILAG fellows include 25 students from the main Akoka Campus and 18 students from the college of Medicine, University of Lagos (MEDILAG), Idi-Araba.
Fellows from Akoka include: Abdulazeez Hussein, Adetoro Ajenifuja , Adewale Ikoya, Ayomide Akindele, Boluwatife Obasa, Comfort Oladeji, Damilola Olajide, David Akanmu, Isaac Popoola and Jemima Aiye-Atukpor.
Others are: Jemima Olisa-Akaeze, Mandela Pereira, Michael Omolade ,Moyinoluwa Anoma, Mubarak Olaleye, Olawale Goodluck, Oluwafemi Durojaye, Oluwatobi Ojo, Oluwatomisin Ilesanmi , Onyinyechi Mbanali, Paul Aderoju, Rachael Fadimu, Segun Ige, Solomon Oladipupo and Taiwo Adebiyi.
Fellow from Idi-Araba are: Abimbola Aiyeyemi, Anthonia Abraham, Christopher Uduh, Chukwudumebi Igwilo, Elizabeth Aladelokun, Enoch Oyebade , Esomchukwu Eze, Goodness Udotong, Harrison Udeh and Ibukunoluwa Adebakin
Others include: Ilerioluwa Lawal, Iruoma Osonwa, Jennifer Okei, Jessica Ike, Marvellous Abe, Oluwabusayo Aluko, Rosemary Nsofor, and Tolulope Fashola.
The Millennium Fellowship is a yearly programme that convenes, challenges and celebrates bold student leadership that advances the Sustainable Development Goals and other social impacts initiatives on campuses and in communities.
